Short & Sweet update on LWA:
What is the status of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the first 3 weeks of LWA?
Phase 1: $300 payments have been issued and completed for those in this phase
Phase 2: Payments are being made to those who self-attested to full/partial unemployment due to COVID-19
What about the additional weeks CA got approved for?
EDD is beginning to issue two more weeks of LWA payments ($300/week) to individuals in both phases who meet eligibility requirements for weeks ending August 22 and August 29
And the sixth week?
EDD has received federal approval for a POTENTIAL sixth and final week of LWA payments for the week ending September 5. EDD has to monitor that all benefits have been paid for first five weeks in order to ensure sufficient federal funds remain for the sixth week. More details to come.
What do I need to be eligible?
Minimum of $100 or more weekly benefit award. If you're weekly benefit award on your main page is less than $100 - you do not qualify. Sorry :(
Received payment on claim between July 26 and August 15
Must self-attest that you are unemployed/partially unemployed due to disruptions caused by COVID-19
