I'm on FED-ED. My claim shows a claim balance, but payment has been pending for almost 3 weeks. It may be because my claim began about 1 year ago. Should I continue waiting? Try to call EDD? Try to open a new claim? Thanks for your input.
It's allowing you to certify ? Why don't you just go ahead and certify? The pending issue is a separate issue and may be something you need to call for. You should continue to certify
They say in their newsletters you should continue certifying if you are allowed to so you can avoid delays. If you are allowed to certify, I would say that it's safe to do so. If you are really concerned then you would have to call and speak to EDD themselves if you want to hear it from them. If you certify it's possible that only those past weeks are pending but your new ones may not -- but thats not 100%.
It says you have until 3/3/2021 so you can just wait if you want to and see if it pays you out for that week.
I'm having the same issue right now. I've got six weeks that say 'Pending.' I thought it was because I had reported starting classes, but I just realized that the first two weeks are from before school started. So I have no idea why. I had to send back a small Overpayment, which I did, and they received it.
Re. Certifying - I did read somewhere that we should keep certifying for benefits, regardless of the payment status, in order to keep our claim active.

It's letting me certify, but I still haven't gotten paid for the prior week.
I didn't want to certify yet if I'll have to open a new claim, then re-certify, or if it might create problems with the new claim.
Is there a reason why I should certify even if I'm not getting paid?
