I am on regular UI and it now says I have received my maximum benefits already. My claim is open until 6-2021 so I cannot try to reopen but was wondering if anyone knows if they will switch my claim over to the pandemic unemployment claim or do I need to call EDD...thanks for the help!
Everything is automatic. Here is a breakdown I recently posted: https://www.unemploymentgurus.com/post/breakdown
Thank you for the response; I'm in a similar boat.
Should we be concerned that we cannot certify for these weeks we're waiting to hear about an extension? It's been a month since I've maxed my benefits and I worry about back-pay during this waiting time.
@kro EDD wrote in their newsletter there should not be a gap in benefits, so based on that, you should be able to get paid for the past weeks after Dec 27, 2020. An insane amount of people are calling now so it's up to you if you want to get in line for that :( but of course talking to someone directly is best
Personally if it was my claim I would not be concerned bc I think this will be eventually addressed, but also your financial situation could be different than mine -- so do what's best for you? If you need to call, for sure call them 800-300-5616
Similar situation here - just filed for the last 2 weeks but only had $450 left on my EDD balance; was paid for one week $450 + $300 federal and now my account says Maximum Benefits paid.
FYI - a co-worker who was laid off the same date as me filed her final claim a few weeks back and then got an EDD text alert 2 days later saying:
We filed a Federal-State Extended Duration (FED-ED) extension (up to 20 weeks) on your unemployment claim.
So fingers crossed it will happen automatically soon!
