After waiting for months since August, I finally received back pay from when I had originally become unemployed, late March. Unfortunately, this backpay exhausted my entire claim balance and 3 weeks were marked "Unpaid." Since then, the extension had kicked in and I was told by a representative on the phone that they will put in a request to "transfer" 3 weeks from my extension to my original week so I can have those weeks paid (including the additional $300.) This was back in November, and I am still waiting. Calling EDD back results in constant "This is still being reviewed" answers.
I am wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this and if there is anything I can do to make it happen. Thank you very much!
ALSO, my first two $600 payments from the beginning of April for some reason said NOT PAID for months, for no apparent reason. I never received those payments though I was owed them and there was a record of me having certified for those weeks. I spoke to several adjuster who thought I was crazy. They weren't seeing what I was seeing. They kept saying "we see that you received them". I said NO, I did not, I can prove it with my bank statements. They did not relent. I had to call three different times until I reached someone who was willing to admit it could be a technical error and he would tell tech support. It turned out that was the right call! It was a technical error and they could see I was never paid those amounts. That may be the case for you. You may have to mention that to whoever you talk to. I've spoken with many adjusters who are new or are experiencing things they've never experienced before who say "I've never seen this issue. I didn't know an error like that was possible" etc.
Hey there! I had a kind of similar situation, but with wages from out of state that I had waited for for months. My claim exhausted and I was put on PEUC because my balance still didn't include all of my wages. I also was told to wait several times. Eventually the third or fourth time I talked to an adjuster, they did something that made it finally happen. I was given the balance I was due, retroactively given backpay for the lower WBA I had been receiving for months, and my PEUC was cancelled. Then when I had finally exhausted my 26 weeks, I was put back on PEUC, but accidentally at my original erroneous WBA amount! I had to again call and call, and wait several weeks, Even after someone said ok I'll fix it, I had to call again a couple weeks later and was told by the adjuster they saw no notes or mention of work that needed to be done on my claim! But they finally fixed it for me.
Long story short, call over and over and over even if the calls are not productive. Be very very specific and sometimes the adjuster will not understand and will make it seem like you don't, even though you know they are just not getting it. Be persistent and advocate strongly anytime you speak with someone, but be very polite. Ask for the request to be elevated. Eventually all my issues worked out, but I did probably call five or six times in a four month period. Good luck!
