In Reapply / File a New Claim
Hello I'm basically trying to figure out what to do before completely giving up on my claim. Please if you have new suggestions, I'd be grateful. I was on extension and my last payment was 1-31-21. On 2-13-21 I received a message from EDD saying they were adding additional 11 weeks of benefits to my claim. It never came. I reached out on 3-18-21 by email to ask about the status. After a week and no reply, I filed a new claim, approx 3-26-21. I got the paperwork with my weekly benefit amount etc. in mid April. It said take no further action if you have an existing debit card and UI Online account. So, I did nothing. I kept waiting and never was asked to certify for benefits. On 4-25-21 I wrote again to check on the status of this new claim, and received no response. The next day I wrote to my representative. They promptly responded with a message from their EDD rep saying " She is approved, it just takes a few weeks." Its now 6-1-21, how many weeks is a few weeks? I've given up on calling and all the tricks there. Also waiting on California stimulus from Newsom and IRS refund of $998- no of which seems to be coming when others have received theirs. Really tired of all this and obviously in need of some relief. Will they back pay for all this time? How can I actually get some movement here? Do i need to start a new UI Online account? My home screen never changes, never asks me to certify for benefits. (I actually tried to start a new account, but it said i had an existing one. ) Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
