In Reapply / File a New Claim
In March I received a notice on the EDD website stating I needed to file a new claim since it has been a year from the date of my original claim. It also stated if you had a pandemic claim it would happen automatically. At that time I was able to certify for 3 weeks of benefits and they were all pending. After nothing new happened, I called and spoke with someone who said I needed to file it on my own and she went ahead and did it for me. I told her it said I didn't need to, but she said, I didn't have pandemic unemployment it was regular unemployment. That is not what my transaction history shows but didn't think to ask for further details, I was just happy something was happening. A couple of weeks later my pending weeks came through, but I have not been able to certify since that time, so haven't been paid since the middle of March. Of course I haven't been able to reach anyone by phone. I have also been instructed to start their reemployment program next week, which I am perfectly happy to do, but I wasn't sure if this could be holding things up. Anyone have this same issue or any insight? Thank you.
